Question 1

What is an ATS-friendly resume, and why is it essential?

Accepted Answer

An ATS-friendly resume is specifically structured and formatted so Applicant Tracking Systems (like Workday, Taleo, Greenhouse, and Lever) can parse your text, dates, job titles, education, and technical skills without data loss or parsing errors. Over 75% of resumes are screened out by ATS before a recruiter reads them.

Question 2

How does CVDash's free AI resume builder optimize for Applicant Tracking Systems?

Accepted Answer

CVDash builds resumes using semantic standard headings, single-column parsable layouts, and parser-safe typography. Our built-in AI assistant helps transform basic duty lists into high-impact bullet points with strong action verbs and quantified metrics tailored to ATS screening algorithms.

Question 3

Is CVDash completely free to use without hidden fees or watermarks?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can draft, edit, customize typography, live preview, and download high-resolution vector PDF resumes completely free without watermarks or paywalls. Optional AI generation credits are available for advanced automated bullet rewrites.

Question 4

How does the real-time ATS resume score calculator work?

Accepted Answer

The CVDash scoring engine evaluates your resume on a 0-100 scale across 6 core dimensions: personal contact details, professional summary depth, experience bullet metrics, education history, portfolio projects, and relevant keyword skills.

Question 5

Can I download my resume as a PDF for free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once you finish editing your resume, click 'Download PDF' to generate an ATS-compliant, vector-grade PDF document immediately, formatted cleanly for recruiter review.

Question 6

Which fonts and formatting layouts are safest for ATS parsers?

Accepted Answer

Standard modern fonts like Inter, Roboto, Lato, and Arial with clear font sizes (10pt to 12pt body text, 14pt to 18pt headings) and single-column or clean two-section layouts are universally parsed by ATS engines without scrambling text order.

Question 7

What are the most critical keywords and action verbs to include on a resume?

Accepted Answer

Top resumes prioritize past-tense action verbs (such as Architected, Spearheaded, Accelerated, Automated, Streamlined) coupled with measurable metrics (e.g., 'reduced latency by 42%', 'generated $1.2M in ARR') and role-specific technical proficiencies.

Question 8

How does CVDash protect user privacy and personal information?

Accepted Answer

CVDash encrypts all user authentication and drafts with secure enterprise-grade databases, adhering to strict data privacy principles. We never sell your personal data or application history to third-party recruiters.
